Appeal preparation guide

Google Business Profile appeal evidence: what Google's guidance describes

Evidence is not persuasion. Its only job is to let a reviewer confirm that the business described on the profile is the business described on official paperwork.

No document, and no combination of documents, guarantees approval. What documents can do is remove ambiguity.

Not sure which of these applies to your profile?

The free pre-check takes about a minute and tells you whether a readiness report fits your case before you pay anything.

Document types Google's guidance names

  • Business registration documents
  • A business license
  • Tax certificates
  • Utility bills

Google's help pages describe these as examples of supporting documentation and ask that they match the business name and address shown on the profile. Which documents are relevant depends on your business type and country; the appeal form itself sets out what it will accept at the time you use it.

The matching test

Before you attach anything, check each document against the profile: is the legal or trading name the same wording, is the address the same address, and is the document current rather than expired or superseded? A document that shows a different entity name or a former address raises the exact question the appeal is meant to settle.

The 60-minute window

Google's current appeal guidance states that once you choose to add evidence and the evidence form is opened, the evidence must be submitted within 60 minutes. This is why documents should be located, scanned, named, and checked before you start the appeal — not during it.

Keep documents unaltered

Submit original, unedited scans or photographs. Cropping out a mismatched address, retouching a date, or assembling a composite image is a serious risk and not something any preparation process should encourage.

Preparing the evidence set

Appeallure never asks you to upload a file. It asks which documents you already hold and whether the name, address, and date match, then returns an evidence plan that flags gaps before you enter Google's flow. It costs $39 one time and includes one rerun after corrections.

Appeallure is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google. Appeallure does not access your Google account, submit appeals, upload evidence, or contact Google, and no tool or preparation can guarantee that a profile will be reinstated.

Questions owners ask

How long do I have to submit evidence?

Google's appeal guidance states that after the evidence form is opened, evidence must be submitted within 60 minutes. Prepare your documents before starting.

Does the document name have to match the profile name?

Google's guidance asks that supporting documents match the business name and address on the profile. Differences should be resolved or explained factually rather than ignored.
